About Stray Funk

Hi, you found me. I'm Sophie the creator of Stray Funk.

I am a self-confessed shopaholic and wanted to create great products that fitted around me throwing on my jeans and trainers for the school run, but that were unique, great quality, ethical and made me look and feel like I’d made an effort even when there was little time.

I created Stray Funk because I love all things retro, and want to reflect my passion and love for days gone by, embracing childhood memories and love of the seemingly endless summers. Designs that I hope will appeal to everyone, regardless of age.

A great man once said:
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” - Ferris Bueller

I am working with Ecologi and the Eden Reforestation Project which means a tree is planted automatically for every purchase, I want to offset our carbon footprint making Stray Funk carbon neutral or better. You can check our tree planting progress here.

All my garments are sustainable, ethical and vegan, printed here in the UK. Each garment is made from natural fibres and from sustainable plantations. All of the cotton is organic and the polyester is recycled. Every garment is GOTS, OCS Blended and Oeko-Tex certified. The factories meet the most stringent safety criteria, with working conditions in line with the Fair Wear Foundation. This means equality in the workplace, anti bullying policies, anti child labour, safe conditions and higher than minimum wage salaries.

Each garment is made to order and I only produce items I get an order for, avoiding textile waste from over production. This way we can all be part of the sustainable fashion movement.
